​Christina Jemine is a Certified Professional Midwife and licensed Midwife in the state of Florida, who has been serving in the field of women's health for over 10 years. She is a mother to a beautiful daughter who's presence has totally transformed her life for the better. Before becoming a midwife, Christina worked as a Mother-Baby nurse for 6 years at Kings County Hospital Center in Brooklyn, NY (her hometown) teaching families everything from breastfeeding to car seat safety. She is a graduate from The Florida School of Traditional Midwifery in Gainesville, Florida; a 3-Year Direct Entry Midwifery Program. Christina currently sits as the secretary for NY-CPM, Inc., an non-profit organization whose mission is to expand midwifery licensure in New York State to include the Certified Professional Midwife as an independent practitioner. Christina's desire is for every community to have midwives who reflects them and is richly rooted in their overall well being. Her passion is centered in serving black families where the disparities are grave. Everyday black mothers and babies are dying in childbirth from complications that are preventable and where the ratio of black midwives in the U.S. are few. As a mother and a midwife, Christina is determine to alter the current narrative for black families wherever she goes as she presses forward being the change that needs to be seen in this world.
